The best makeup for wet, windy weather

Anytime I leave the house during the winter, my eyes run. For about a six-month period of the year, the cold wind seems to make it impossible for me to have an easy makeup day, as tears leak out while walking to the station, the shops, or my local park.

For that reason, I’ve tested a lot of makeup.

Concealer can smudge when it’s wet, blush can end up streaky if a rain droplet creates a track down your face, and any weather-induced tears will make eyeliner run.

Whilst longevity is the goal, so is comfort. A liquid lipstick will last, but it will also feel drying. Actual waterproof mascara? I’m not a fan, as it requires more effort and tugging to remove at the end of the day, and eyes shouldn’t be treated harshly.

The good news is: there is makeup out there that lasts well without you having to compromise on the actual enjoyment of wearing it.

No product is perfect, and nothing is completely able to withstand gale force winds outside, but we’ve found products that work that bit harder.
