People Are Sharing Their Go-To Dinners When They Absolutely CBA To Cook
Soup and grilled cheese
Everyone has that dish they fall back on when they really can’t be bothered to cook – mine is a garlic prawn pasta dish with diced courgette or cherry tomatoes (depending on what’s in my fridge) that takes all of 10 minutes to make.
I’ll be the first to admit I’m constantly on the lookout for quick mid-week meal ideas that don’t take much preparation or brain power.
So, I stopped mid-scroll when I came across ponderingpixi17′s post on r/Cooking which asked: “What’s your go to meal when you don’t feel like cooking?”
True to their username, they pondered: “Some days I’m just too tired to make a full meal but still want something homemade. I usually end up making eggs or pasta, but it gets boring after a while.
“What do you guys make on lazy days that’s quick, easy, and still tastes good?”
This is what people shared...
1. Picky bits
“I don’t make a meal when I don’t feel like cooking. I just graze. A bit of fruit here, some cheese there, some nuts and berries. Maybe some raw veggies,” said Phonic-Frog.
Reddit user 3DanO1 chimed in: “I always keep some cured meats around for just this reason. Some meat, some grapes, a chunk of whatever cheese I have in the fridge and some almonds or something.”
2. Seasoned black beans with rice
