We’ve all had that one playdate that still brings us out in sweats – but the likelihood is it was nowhere near as bad as some of these...

One parent recently divulged on Mumsnet that their nine-year-old son had been playing at his mate’s house recently, having a jolly old time.

But he returned home “covered in what I can only assume is dog shit”.

The horrified mum said their beloved child came home covered in a mysterious and stinky substance – we’re talking on his shoes, trousers, t-shirt and even in his hair.

“It doesn’t even smell like normal dog shit. It is very cheesy in smell and it’s all over him. He reeked,” said the grossed-out mum.

“He said he spent time playing in the garden, but who lets kids play in a dog shit covered garden?! FFS!”

Thankfully it was nothing a good bath and sticking his clothes on a hot wash couldn’t sort. But it prompted her to ask for other parents to share their playdate horror stories... And they did not hold back.

The police bust
