If you’re having a lousy week and feeling a bit bummed out, spare a thought for the poor dad who accidentally told his kid’s teacher that he loved them.

The rather mortified 42-year-old shared on Reddit’s r/CasualConversation that he’d had a quick phone call with his son’s teacher after school recently.

He was driving home from work during the chat and was parking up as the conversation came to an end – and the concentration on one task led to a bit of a brain lapse regarding the other...

“I said ‘love you’ to my kid’s teacher,” the distraught father admitted.

“She said something like ‘it was good to talk to you’ and (being a little distracted) I said ‘ok bye, love you’. As I realised what I’d just said, I froze and she said ‘err, bye’ and hung up.”

At this point, I’ll bet he was just waiting for the ground to swallow him whole.
