Tommy Robinson Has Welcomed Labour's Plans To Slash Illegal Immigration
Tommy Robinson
Tommy Robinson has backed the government’s latest crackdown on illegal immigration.
The far-right agitator took to social media to welcome home secretary Shabana Mahmood’s tough new approach.
She will announce that refugee status will be made temporary and that the length of time it takes to gain permanent status in Britain will be quadrupled from five to 20 years.
Those seeking asylum in the UK will be deported back to their home country once it is deemed to be safe, Mahmood will tell MPs.
Human rights law will also be overhauled to prevent it from being used to frustrate deportations.
High value items like jewellery will be removed from asylum seekers and sold to help cover their accommodation costs.
A number of Labour MPs have already gone public with their criticisms of the government’s plans.
Robinson wrote on X: “The Overton window has been obliterated, well done patriots.”
The Overton window refers to the range of policies and ideas which are deemed to be acceptable by society.
