Starmer Expresses 'Profound Relief' After Trump Says First Phase Of Gaza Peace Plan Agreed

Keir Starmer has expressed his “profound relief” after Donald Trump announced that the first phase of his plan to end the war in Gaza has been agreed between Israel ands Hamas.
The US president announced the breakthrough on his Truth Social account on Wednesday night.
It comes after days of intense talks involving diplomats from Egypt, Qatar and Turkiye as well as America.
Trump said: “I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan. This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly!
