A presenter on LBC delivered a brutal fact check following claims by senior Reform UK politicians that the small boats crisis means the UK is no longer a “safe haven” for women and girls.

Andrea Jenkyns, the party’s mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, claimed she no longer feels safe walking the streets of Britain.

Her colleague, Reform MP Sarah Pochin, said illegal migrants put women “at risk of sexual assault”.

Party leader Nigel Farage has also claimed that asylum seekers coming to the UK in small boats are a national security risk, and made disputed claims that they are more likely to commit sexual offences than British men.

But in a monologue on his LBC show, Ben Kentish pointed out that high numbers of sexual offences were taking place in the UK long before the small boats........
