British voters have delivered a damning verdict on Donald Trump’s ability to broker an end to the war in Ukraine.

New polling shows the public’s trust in the US president has plummeted in the wake of his summit with Vladimir Putin in Alaska last Friday.

Although Trump claimed the talks had been a great success, the Russian president was widely acknowledged to have emerged from it in a stronger position.

Despite literally rolling out the red carpet as Putin arrived on US soil, Trump received no assurances that Russia wants to end its illegal invasion of Ukraine.
