A BBC Middle East expert has explained why Palestinians do not want Tony Blair involved in the running of Gaza.

Jeremy Bowen, the corporation’s international affairs editor, said the move, which has been proposed as part of Donald’s Trump’s peace plan for the region, has echoes of British “colonialism” in the past.

The US president has said he will chair a “board of peace” made up of Palestine and European administrators, including Blair, to initially run Gaza following the end of the Israel-Hamas war.
