'Not A Patriot': Liz Truss Slammed For Suggesting Trump Should Destroy The BBC

Liz Truss has been slammed after she backed Donald Trump’s bid to sue the BBC and called for the corporation to be “put out of its misery”.
The former prime minister, who only lasted 49 days in No.10, said a lot of Brits were “cheering on” the US president, who has said he wants up to $5 billion after Panorama broadcast a misleading edit of a speech he made before the Capitol riots on January 6, 2020.
Appearing on Fox News, Truss said the BBC was “fake news” and insisted it was wrong that British taxpayers had to fund it through the television licence fee.
She said: “There is a lot of excitement among Conservatives in Britain at the moment that President Trump is actually taking the BBC on.”
Truss added: “I believe the organisation needs to be defunded, and as well as suing the BBC, I think it would be fantastic if President Trump were to encourage stopping the British taxpayer funding what is fake news that is damaging Britain’s reputation.
