'Clueless': Kemi Badenoch Mocked After Wrongly Saying Northern Ireland Voted To Leave EU

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch has been mocked after she wrongly claimed Northern Ireland voted to leave the EU in the 2016 referendum.
She confidently stated that had been the result “the last time I checked” during an interview ahead of the Conservative Party conference in Manchester.
In actual fact, Northern Ireland voted 56% to 44% in favour of remaining in the EU, even though the UK as a whole voted to leave.
The mistake is particularly embarrassing for Badenoch as she said in an interview last year: “I never have gaffes... I never have to clarify, because I think very carefully about what I say.”
Speaking to BBC Northern Ireland political show The View on Thursday, Badenoch said: “Last time I checked, Northern Ireland did vote to leave.”
When it was pointed out to her that it did not, the Tory leader bizarrely replied: “Scotland voted to remain, a lot of people in Northern Ireland voted to remain, you’re right.
“But Wales and England voted to leave. Overall, we have 52% of people........
