Keir Starmer has refused to say if he thinks Donald Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end the conflict in Gaza.

The US president has made it painfully clear that he wants to win the prestigious accolade since returning to office.

While his efforts to end the Ukraine war have so far failed to bear any fruit, both Israel and Hamas have just agreed to the first stage of his peace plan to bring their conflict in Gaza to an end.

So Channel 4′s Paul McNamara asked the prime minister at a press conference today in Mumbai if that
