There's widespread scepticism that Putin is really willing to negotiate a peace deal with Trump on Friday.

Vladimir Putin seems to be preparing to test a Russian nuclear-armed cruise missiles, according to reports, even as he prepares for peace talks with Donald Trump on Friday.

The American president and his Russian counterpart are set to meet in Alaska tomorrow for a highly anticipated face-to-face looking at what it would take for Putin to end his brutal war in Ukraine.

However, specialists told Reuters news agency Putin is still working on his deadliest weapons – suggesting he is not at all ready for peace.

Jeffery Lewis from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and Decker Eveleth of the CNA research and analysis organisation separately examined satellite photos of a Russian archipelago, Novaya Zemlya.
