Russia launched a deadly attack on Ukraine last night as western officials were pouring over the detail of Donald Trump’s new peace plan to end the war.

Russian drones killed four people in Ukraine’s second-largest city, Kharkiv, and injured at least 17 others including two children, according to the local mayor Igor Terekhov.

Three residential buildings and an infrastructure facility were also set on fire, while the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration Oleg Synegubov described the attack as “massive”.

The attack is a bleak reminder that Ukrainians continue to suffer from Russian brutality, almost four years after Vladimir Putin first initiated his land grab.
