Shabana Mahmood has said that the terror attack on a Manchester synagogue proves there is a “problem” with integration in the UK.

Speaking after two people were killed and three others seriously injured on the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur, the home secretary said she is “very worried about the state of community relations in our country”.

Sky News presenter Trevor Phillips asked the cabinet minister on Sunday morning: “Have we failed on integration?”

She replied: “I think there is a question for us to ask ourselves on integration.
