It’s all hands on deck for Swifties right now as Taylor Swift has officially announced her new album, The Life Of A Showgirl, is coming in less than two months.
The pop icon shared the news this week during a much-hyped appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, which he hosts with his brother Jason.
While Taylor’s fans are certainly used to the Grammy-winner’s new albums being shrouded in secrecy, the Blank Space singer has actually already started sharing a lot of exciting details about what fans can expect from TS12.
If you’re already struggling to contain your excitement about a brand new album that’s definitely about to become your whole personality, here’s everything we know so far…
First of all, what’s happened in Taylor Swift’s life since she released her last album, The Tortured Poets Department?
As we all know, Taylor Swift is a very busy woman.
When she dropped The Tortured Poets Department in April 2024 (followed by a deluxe edition with 15 more songs just two hours later), she was already deep in the throes of her gargantuan Eras world tour, having performed all over North America in 2023.
Thankfully, for us patient fans in the UK and Europe who had to wait over a year after the tour started to see Taylor in action, we got to enjoy a whole new segment of the show dedicated to The Tortured Poets Department by the time she arrived on our shores.
She finally bid farewell to the Eras chapter of her life with the tour’s final show in Vancouver, Canada, in December 2024, concluding a 149-show run across 51 cities.

Since then, another huge development in Taylor’s world is that she bought back the rights to her first six albums following a long and public battle to gain ownership of her music.
As you may well know, it all started back in 2019 when music manager Scooter Braun bought her former record label Big Machine, meaning her first six albums – Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989 and Reputation – all belonged to him.
That’s why she’s re-recorded four of her albums, which have become known as “Taylor’s Versions” and all arrived with bonus “vault” tracks. However her self-titled debut and Reputation have not yet been released, with the Grammy-winner telling fans that “those two albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right”.
In her personal life, she seems to have fallen deeper in love with her Kansas City Chiefs NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce. He even made his Eras tour debut with a surprise appearance during one of the Wembley shows, before they went Instagram official with a royal selfie posing alongside Prince William and his children George and Charlotte.
