David Corenswet in the new Superman movie

The Superman franchise is entering a brand new era as David Corenswet takes the reins in the iconic role.

After a decade of Henry Cavill portraying Clark Kent, James Gunn’s take on the legendary DC Comics character takes place in an earlier chapter of Superman’s life, which is why a younger actor has been brought in for the new movie.

Reviews so far have been somewhat mixed, but the blockbuster superhero movie is no doubt set to shake things up.

And with the new leading man taking centre stage alongside a fresh cast, here’s a reminder of you where you might have seen them before…

David Corenswet proved his leading man starpower when he starred in Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s TV miniseries Hollywood, having previously worked with the superproducer on two seasons of The Politician.

Before that, you might have spotted David in single episodes of House Of Cards and Elementary, before he landed roles in the likes of the disaster movie Twisters and the cult slasher Pearl.

Superman is undoubtedly David’s biggest role to date, which will undoubtedly set him up for more leading roles in the future.
