If there’s one thing I’m going to do with a suitcase, it’s drop it. And if it manages to survive endless clatters to the floor, there’s a solid chance it’s going to be slammed against several kerbs, or in the case of one cheapy case, meet its untimely demise while being closed in the doors of a tube.
I travel A LOT between Edinburgh and London as well as zooming here, there and everywhere abroad for work, so the budget suitcases I’ve been purchasing tend to only survive for a year or two max before I somehow destroy them.
Overpacking has seen many a busted zip and on more than one occasion I’ve watched my corner shop bought suitcase come round on a baggage reclaim carousel utterly battered.
