Before we even catch a glimpse of Taylor herself, The Fate Of Ophelia opens in a lavish room, which is undergoing some cleaning by a man with a hoover.

In the background, you might spot a cleaning cart, which is what the I Knew You Were Trouble singer used to make her way to the stage every night on her Eras Tour in a low-key way.

Swifties have also picked up on numerous other nods to Taylor’s mammoth Eras Tour in The Fate Of Ophelia, namely the fact she re-used her dancers from her world jaunt, and wore numerous costumes reminiscent of the show’s final act.

taylor recreates friedrich wilhelm theodor heyser’s ophelia (1873) in the opener, limp and listless. this version of ophelia is awaiting death; it reflects taylor’s lowest point, when she was convinced her story was fated to end in ruin.
