Strictly Come Dancing bosses have announced a new twist for this year’s season that head judge Shirley Ballas has claimed could really shake things up in the competition.

On Thursday evening, it was announced that the show will introduce the one-off Instant Dance challenge later in the series.

This challenge will take place during the Saturday live show when only six couples are left in the competition.

When they’ve all performed, each remaining pairing will be assigned one of their old dance styles from earlier in the series at random.

After throwing on a new costume and being played a snippet of music, the couples will then have just 10 seconds to decide exactly how they want to convey the dance they’ve been given, with the judges then ranking them from best to worst, and extra points being awarded to those who impress the........
