Netflix has announced a new documentary about the legal drama surrounding musician Sean Combs, better known as Diddy, is coming to the platform next week.
The four-part series Sean Combs: The Reckoning was announced on Tuesday, a week before it’s due to begin streaming, and will combine “never-before-seen materials” and “exclusive interviews with those formerly in Combs’ orbit” to chart his meteoric rise to fame and very public fall from grace.
Combs is currently serving a prison sentence of more than four years after being found guilty earlier this year of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in relation to two of his ex-partners, including the singer Cassie.
He was, however, acquitted of the most serious charges that had been made against him, including one count of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.
Produced by Curtis Jackson (better known as the rapper 50 Cent), Sean Combs: The Reckoning was helmed by Alexandria Stapleton, whose past documentary work includes the Netflix offerings Hello, Privilege. It’s Me, Chelsea and The Playbook, as well as other docs like Reggie, Pride and How Music Got Free.
