Lily Allen Insists New Release West End Girl Is Not A 'Revenge' Album

Lily Allen is maintaining that her confessional new release West End Girl shouldn’t be considered a “revenge” album.
On Friday, the chart-topping singer unveiled her fifth album after a seven-year break from the pop scene, which she’s said was partly inspired by the breakdown of her marriage to Stranger Things star David Harbour.
To promote the album, Lily recently spoke to Interview magazine, during which editor Mel Ottenberg questioned if her new era should be considered a “revenge tour”.
“It isn’t,” she insisted with a laugh. “I mean, I wrote this record in 10 days in December and I feel very differently about the whole situation now.
“We all go through breakups and it’s always fucking brutal. But I don’t think it’s that often that you feel inclined to write about it while you’re in it.”
