With 19 famous contestants from all walks of life to pick from, it says something about just how entertaining Alan Carr is that Celebrity Traitors fans are already unanimously calling him the best thing about the show.

The first ever celebrity edition of The Traitors UK got underway on BBC One on Wednesday night, boasting one of the most star-studded casts ever assembled on a British reality show.

But once the launch episode was done, viewers were quick to hail the stand-up comedian as the MVP of the series.

Early on, Alan made no secret of his hopes to be made a Traitor, even if the very thought of it brought him out in giggles, and when he finally got his wish, the fun really started.

Sitting with his fellow contestants, he struggled to keep a straight face whenever speculation about the identity of the Traitors got going, privately branding himself “worse than Linda” and even breaking out into a rather noticeable sweat as the conversation continued.

Meanwhile, the moment he was tasked with locating the “black lily” in the castle, which he had to discreetly touch as part of the show’s first twist, had everyone howling.
