Belinda Carlisle has admitted she’s “horrified” at what she has described as young female artists being “totally sexualised” by the music industry.

During a recent interview with The i Paper, the Heaven Is A Place On Earth singer shared her advice for young women starting out in the music industry, which would be for them to not “let the industry sexualise you”.

“I would say to them, ‘Is this something you’re going to be proud of in 20 or 30 years?’,” she said.

Belinda went on to turn her attention more specifically to Sabrina Carpenter and her controversial Man’s Best Friend album cover, which has sparked plenty of debate since it was unveiled over the summer.
