Between his severe new haircut and – let’s just call a spade a spade here – his pretty jacked bod, you’d be forgiven for not recognising Richard Gadd in the new photos from the set of his next TV show.

Last year, shortly after his show Baby Reindeer launched him to international fame, the Emmy winner shared that he was already hard at work on a new project.

This new show, a joint venture between the BBC and US broadcaster HBO, would feature Richard and Jamie Bell as Niall and Ruben, two Scottish men whose lifelong friendship is explored over the course of the six episodes.

While Richard’s next venture, titled Half Man, won’t air until next year, the BBC has now released new-look images of its two leads on set.
