Ayo Edebiri has insisted she’s staying out of one debate that continues to swirl around her show The Bear.

Since it premiered in 2022, the restaurant-centric US series has become a huge hit with with critics, as well as an awards show favourite, with both Ayo and her co-star Jeremy Allen White becoming regular fixtures at the Golden Globes and Emmys.

However, some have taken issue with the fact that The Bear continues to submit itself as a comedy rather than a drama, arguing that the show is taking away awards from other more traditional comedic shows that don’t always get the same acclaim as dramatic shows.
