Charlie Sheen as seen in his new Netflix documentary

Charlie Sheen, one of the most controversial pop culture figures of the 21st century, has been given the opportunity to tell his unbelievable story in his own words in a new Netflix documentary.

On Wednesday morning, the two-part doc AKA Charlie Sheen began streaming, featuring extensive interviews with the former Two And A Half Men actor, as well as numerous friends, colleagues, former partners and even a few of his adversaries.

At the beginning of the doc, the polarising actor declares that nothing is off-limits in AKA Charlie Sheen – but critics are already calling this into question.

While the show has been largely well-received, early reviews have said that certain subjects did not face enough questioning or scrutiny.

Variety described AKA Charlie Sheen as an “odd, frustrating, occasionally intriguing project”, claiming it “pads out scarce but real nuggets of insight with leading questions and endless clips”.
