Jess Glynne has voiced her anger after the US government used one of her songs to soundtrack a social media post poking fun at ICE deportations.
In the last few weeks, the British singer’s signature tune Hold My Hand has been having a resurgence in popularity due to the viral “Jet2 holiday” trend on TikTok.
On Monday, the White House shared a video post on X depicting migrants being deported from the US, accompanied by the TikTok sound which includes Jess’ Hold My Hand.
“When ICE books you a one-way Jet2 holiday to deportation,” the offending post read. “Nothing beats it!”
Jess shared a screengrab of the X post on her Instagram story on Wednesday evening, writing that it “honestly makes me sick”.
“My music is about love, unity, and spreading positivity – never about division or hate,” she wrote.
