Dame Emma Thompson wants to make her feelings on the rise of AI use in the film industry abundantly clear.

The two-time Oscar winner recently paid a visit to Stephen Colbert’s US talk show, where the host asked the Love Actually star how she felt about what he described as the “coming AI revolution” in Hollywood.

“Intense irritation. I cannot begin to tell you,” Dame Emma responded, taking particular issue with artificial intelligence trying to offer her tips on her writing (as well as her prolific acting career, Dame Emma is also a celebrated screenwriter, penning the likes of Nanny McPhee, Bridget Jones’s Baby and Sense & Sensibility, for which she won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay).
