Met Office Urges Drivers To Keep 12 Items In Their Car This Winter
As of the time of writing (November 18), parts of the UK are facing yellow snow and ice warnings as a cold snap shatters our previously toasty temps.
That might mean some roads will be affected by severe weather conditions, the Met Office warned.
As a result, they recommend people in the affected spots leave their homes (be it by foot, bike, or car) five minutes earlier than usual. This can help to prevent any accidents as you rush on slippery ground.
But no matter where you are in the UK, the Met Office recommends carrying 12 items in your car this winter.
In collaboration with experts from the RAC, they shared that these are:
1) De-icer and ice scraper
It’s legally mandatory to clear your windscreen and rear window of ice and snow before you set off on your journey, so keeping an ice scraper and some de-icer in your car is essential for winter.
