Let's Settle It: Are 'No-Stir' Nut Butters Worse For You?
A no-stir peanut butter
Though some experts think almond butter is the healthiest nut butter, everything considered, it’s quickly followed by the usually cheaper peanut version.
And all of the nut butters on our shelves have at least some nutritional benefits. They contain healthy fats and fibre – the American Heart Association writes, “People who regularly eat nuts or nut butters have a lower risk of heart disease or Type 2 diabetes than those who do not include them in their diet”.
There are, of course, caveats to all this.
If your nut butter is jam-packed with salt and sugar, it’s less likely to be good for you. And eating too much of the high-fat product isn’t a great idea.
Additionally, Professor Judith Wylie-Rosett, a professor and division head for health behaviour research and implementation science, told the American Heart Association, “you have to look for saturated fats” in nut butters too.
That’s partly........
