Recently, researchers wrote in the medical journal The Lancet to urge governments to “reverse the rise in UPF consumption”.
UFPs, or ultra-processed foods, form more than half of the diets of UK adults, the British Heart Foundation shared. Though often cheap and convenient, the organisation says, these items can be high in saturated fats, salt, and sugar, the overconsumption of which can negatively affect our health.
