Cillian Murphy Reveals How He's Really Feeling About Not Being In Christopher Nolan's New Film

Cillian Murphy is apparently happy to be able to sit out Christopher Nolan’s next film and enjoy it as a viewer rather than its main star.

In 2023, Cillian took the lead in Nolan’s epic Oppenheimer, having also worked with the British director on films like Dunkirk, Inception and The Dark Knight.

However, despite winning an Oscar for his leading role in Oppenheimer, the 28 Days Later actor is noticeably absent from the star-studded cast of Nolan’s upcoming adaptation of The Odyssey, which includes A-listers like Tom Holland, Zendaya, Charlize Theron and Matt Damon.

Fortunately, though, this doesn’t seem to be something Cillian is losing any sleep over.

When Variety asked earlier this week if he was developing any FOMO (fear of missing out) about not being in Nolan’s 2026 movie release, the typically-deadpan actor admitted: “I have ROMO: ‘Relief of missing out.’”
