What’s next for Scotland’s female entrepreneurs?
We hear a lot about the challenges that female entrepreneurs face compared to their male counterparts – and they definitely do exist – although the landscape is slowly changing.
However, the level of support for Scotland’s women entrepreneurs is still way behind where it needs to be, to allow the country to benefit from the incredible enterprises being created and delivered every day by the country’s female business owners.
The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) report, compiled last year by the universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Strathclyde, found that, for the first time, women are starting and running new businesses at virtually the same rate as men in Scotland.
