Elon Musk exit shows politicians should be careful about letting the DOGE out With James Watt, Nigel Farage and more looking to follow the DOGE playbook, is it really a good idea?

So, who let the DOGE out?

Elon Musk officially left the Donald Trump administration last week - sporting a black eye at his exit interview - making the future of his so-called Department of Government Efficiency unclear.

The Tesla CEO had initially set out to cut $2tn from the federal budget, but the organisation's website now counts just $180bn and even that number is disputed, with many of the so-called savings within that figure not listed on the site and some having taken place before the department was established.

Since leaving his role as a 'special government employee', the billionaire appears to have gone a bit rogue.

Posting on 𝕏, the social media site he owns, Mr Musk attacked Mr Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act (yes, that's its actual name) which is currently making its way through the Senate.

I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore.

This massive, outrageous, pork-filled........
