Forgotten voices of people
The continued suffering of the people of Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK) is a grave humanitarian concern that deserves the attention of the international community. For decades, the voices of ordinary people of Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK) living under illegal and unauthorized control of Pakistan have been overshadowed by censorship, intimidation, and political repression. Recent reports of crackdowns on civilians by common people in which scores of innocent people were killed by forces of Pakistan, arrests of common people and the use of force against civilians have once again highlighted the difficult conditions faced by the people in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK).
Common people have repeatedly taken to the streets demanding basic rights, economic justice, transparent governance and accountability. However instead of addressing these legitimate grievances through dialogue, Pakistan has imposed restrictions on assembly on people by enforcing communication blackouts, arrests and illegal detention of civilians. People in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK) demands freedom from corrupt administration of Pakistan and they want to become part of India.
