Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center is celebrating 20 years of operation after being reconstructed into a new amphitheater of 5,000 covered seats, with lawn seating for 10,000 more. Adjacent to Finger Lakes Community College’s main campus, it was originally called the Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center.

The theme for this year’s summer concert season is “Celebrating 20 Years Under the CMAC Stars.” Graphic design students at FLCC designed various promotional materials, as they have in past years.

I have clear recollections of the initial 2006 concert season. The first event was a July 4-themed show by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. It was the next show in the new venue — by RatDog — that was oh, so memorable.

The group began in 1995 as a side project for Grateful Dead original member and rhythm guitarist/singer Bob Weir. Weir passed away in January........
