The headline for this column is a classic example of “clickbait.” For readers expecting a particularly gruesome narrative or subject matter, it isn’t going to happen.
The “Gorey,” in this case, refers to Edward Gorey. He was an American writer, Tony award-winning costume designer, and artist noted for his own illustrated books as well as cover art and illustrations for books by other writers.
After Gorey’s death in 2000 at age 75, his home on Cape Code became a museum dedicated to his life and work.
