Opinion: We have failed to challenge our political parties
We no longer demand answers from the politicians we support. They are given a pass. This decreases political accountability.

I have always believed myself to be open-minded. I have never labelled myself a hardcore Liberal, Conservative or New Democrat. I have tried to educate myself on current affairs and listen to what candidates say. At the end of the day, I want Canada’s prime minister to be the best person for the job.
When I grew up, I was taught that democracy gave every individual over the age of 18 a small, but important, say in deciding who represents you in government. The prime minister and cabinet work for the citizens of Canada. It is crucial that we act responsibly and fulfil our duties by participating and voting in elections.
