People urged to hand over blank-firing guns during amnesty
The amnesty will be from February 2 to February 27 and focuses on five models of Italian-made, top-venting blank firearms that recent testing has shown can be readily converted to fire live ammunition using basic tools.
Possession after the amnesty could result in a 10-year prison sentence.
