The family were staying at Dove Cottage in Brandon when a fire broke out in the early hours of December 27, 2023.

Matthew Arnold, the son of the property's owners, received a formal caution by station manager Phil Cornford at Brandon fire station on July 7.

Failings were found in the risk assessment. (Image: Brandon Fire Station) When the fire was discovered, family members raised the alarm - however, two female occupants were unable to escape through the hallway.
