The types of crimes reported included violence and sexual offences, which accounted for the highest percentage at 35.3pc.

Other significant categories were anti-social behaviour at 19.1pc and criminal damage and arson at 14.7pc.

Burglary made up 5.9pc, while other theft and public order offences each represented 10.3pc.
