Vic Peters was elected to serve as mayor of Thetford, with Mac MacDonald named as deputy.

Thetford Town Council confirmed their election after a vote on Tuesday, February 24.

Mr Peters said: "I am excited to have been elected by my fellow councillors to be the mayor of Thetford for the forthcoming mayoral year.

"Thetford has been my home for 19 years, and I, along with my wife, Joanne, look forward to representing and promoting our town to the best of our abilities.

"The mayoress and I are honoured to serve the town over the next year."

In 2025-26, Mr Peters served as deputy mayor, supporting town events and representing Thetford alongside the current mayor.

Mr MacDonald said: "I am deeply honoured and grateful to have been nominated and supported by my fellow councillors for election as deputy mayor of Thetford."

He has served on the council since 2022, representing Boudica ward.
