The displays, which feature eggs, chicks and rabbits, were made by children from primary schools in Norfolk and showcased in nearby libraries as part of a project led by Kingsley Healthcare and supported by care home residents and staff.

Marcia Hughes, from Kingsley Healthcare (East), said: "We just wanted to make everyone smile at Easter.

"The display’s created are beautiful, and it has been so lovely for the staff to see the children coming in to the care home with the pebbles"

Children also took part in a pebble hunt, finding stones decorated by care home residents and staff.

These pebbles were hidden in schools and later returned to Buckingham Lodge in Watton and Downham Grange in Downham Market in exchange for a chocolate gift.

Ms Hughes said: "Care homes can be such confusing places for children but with an aging population we are determined to break down barriers with projects like these,"
