Paul Carman, 58, and his older sister Deborah Carman, 60, are on opposing sides of a court case after she admitted fiddling the books while working at Woodrow Garage in Cawston, near Aylsham.

Financial discrepancies uncovered when accountants were called into the petrol station and motor repair business saw her confess to having taken tens of thousands to pay off online bingo debts.

Norwich Magistrates’ Court heard she had been employed in roles including bookkeeper for 15 years until the fraud was uncovered in 2023.
