Shayne Hill, 32, was allegedly "engaged with his phone" for 10 seconds before he crashed into Cheryl Tye without seeing her on the A11 dual carriageway at Roudham, near Thetford.

The 54-year-old cyclist who was taking part in an organised time trial was thrown into the air and hit the windscreen of Hill’s blue Citroen Dispatch van before she landed in the road as her bike and helmet shattered into pieces.

Norwich Crown Court was told how other motorists stopped and tried to revive her with CPR, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
