Joe Brown, 35, admitted a string of offences including smashing a window in the front door of a property on Plumstead Road East in Norwich.

Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told the occupants heard a loud bang and found a man holding a pole in his hand who stated: “Sorry mate, I’m at the wrong house.”

Josephine Jones, prosecuting, said the experience had left them feeling “violated” and “afraid in their own home”.

In a statement read in court they added: “What if he comes back?”
