Pensioner collapses outside court after admitting £9k benefit fraud
Derek Aldridge, 77, slumped over and needed medical attention following a hearing at Norwich Magistrates’ Court.
The retired painter and decorator had earlier complained of feeling unwell as he faced a charge of fraudulently claiming more than £9,000 in pension credit.
The court was told it was related to a cash ISA in his name that he had failed to declare to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
