Targeting ATMs in late night raids at 51 locations across the UK, the gang used sophisticated devices to bypass security systems to fraudulently withdraw cash in 3,300 separate transactions.

Alexandru Militaru, 25, of High Street in Watton, was jailed for two years and five months after being involved in fraudulent activity totalling almost £100,000

In total, nine men have been convicted in relation to the fraud, with five sentenced during hearings at Luton Crown Court.

An investigation by the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) targeted the gang, which was based in Romania but operated out of Luton.
