Simon Douglas, 53, gave the details of a friend when his Jaguar was stopped by police on the A47 at North Tuddenham.

Norwich Crown Court heard the unsuspecting man he claimed to be was subsequently prosecuted for no insurance and fined in his absence.

He only learnt of the deception when court debt collectors came banging on his door.

Danielle O'Donovan, prosecuting, said Douglas had been serving a three year ban for his third drink driving conviction at the time........
